FYSPRT is a working relationship among family, youth, and system partners based on the following values:

  • Respect – Families and youth, as well as system partners, will value what each brings to the table without judgment, meeting each where they are.
  • Equity – All members have value and expertise in a particular area (mental health, family/youth perspective, education, etc.) and all expertise is valued equally.
  • Reciprocity – Everyone gives and everyone receives, everyone learns and everyone teaches. There is the expectation that all members will give and receive in achieving the group goals.
  • Partnership – Families, youth, and systems will work together to find solutions that work well for everyone. All groups will look for shared truth in achieving goals.
  • Empowerment – Families, youth, as well as system partners will be equipped with skills to enable them to operate independently.
  • Support – Families and youth, and system partners will receive support when needed.

What's In It For You?

  • By participating in your Regional FYSPRT, you are able to have a direct local to state link. You can then use this linkage to impact policies and provide valuable feedback regarding state initiatives and practices.  You can easily access this information to bring it back to your local community, and you will have a venue to pose questions, and get real answers.

  • Participating in your local round table means you will be a part of the creation of a platform for families, youth, and system partners to increase their skills for the purpose of being better partners in both care and practice.

  • You will become part of a pool of engaged families, youth, and system partners for administrations and organizations to draw on to provide authentic voice to advise throughout our system transformation supporting adherence to family-driven, youth guided philosophy.

  • You can use your professional and lived experience to make a difference in the way that children, youth, and families access and receive services.

  • You can be a change agent in your community and across the state!
